You've Got Denised: A Love Story
Let me preface this article with a very unpopular statement: I have ALWAYS been a Brandi Glanville fan. My opinion of her slightly derailed when she drunkenly slapped Queen LVP in Amsterdam. Definitely not one of her finest moments. However, I always appreciated her honesty and use of the F-bomb at fancy dinner parties. Come on, accusing someone of doing crystal meth in the bathroom the FIRST TIME you meet a group of women is the pettiness I can only dream of achieving some day.
Fast forward to 2018 when Andy Cohen made the genius decision of hiring Denise Richards for a steep paycheck of $1,000,000 per season with a guaranteed 4 season contract. That is more than Skinnygirl mogul, Bethenny Frankel, and the newly departed (RIP) and self-proclaimed ‘OG of the OC’, Vicki Gunvalson, were both paid for their tenure. Before Denise joined the cast, I was already a huge fan. Am I the only one who watched her show, It’s Complicated? Most likely, since it was cancelled after 17 episodes. Another quality of hers I admire, and I mean this in the most lovingly way possible, is her Klonopin induced relaxed personality which quickly made her one of my favorite housewives of ALL TIME. My love for both of these women have made this article very difficult for me to write.
Everyone can probably agree that last season of RHBH was a BUST. I would have honestly preferred listening to Scheana’s “Good as Gold” on repeat every night before falling asleep than hear about Puppy Gate one more time. (For those of you who want to torture your loved ones, I’ve linked the song so you all can listen. You’re welcome.) Let’s be real, Dorit’s ever changing hair and Camille’s sociopathic tendencies could only sustain us for so long. Because of all this, I was not looking forward to this upcoming season. Then, on Monday, December 29th, Brandi tweeted the following four words and everything changed…”I just got ‘Denised’ “.
The Bravoverse went into a tailspin with all types of speculation. It wasn’t until the ever reliable Daily Mail broke the SHOCKING bombshell that Denise stopped filming when her ‘supposed’ affair with Brandi became public. This would not have been a big deal since Denise and her (super attractive) husband have an open marriage arrangement, but APPARENTLY he didn’t know about this affair which made things pretty uncomfortable for Denise. Making matters worse, Denise refuted these rumors angering everyone in the cast. Long story short, there have been countless accusations back and forth from both Brandi and Denise’s camp so it is difficult to know who’s telling the truth.
The rest of the cast have had their opinions as well. Per usual, Lisa Rinna has been stirring the piping hot pot by publicly calling Denise out for skipping the finale in the most passive aggressive ‘Rinna’ way possible. Most recently, international pop star and my style icon, Erika Jayne, was on WWHL and alluded to the fact that Denise will have ‘a lot to answer to at the reunion’. Only time will tell what actually happened, but I know one thing for sure, Denise was married to Charlie Sheen for four years so she handle surely handle a group of Beverly Hills housewives.
